  • MIRx and Vienna Imperial

    Good morning,

I'm evaluating MIRx with SE, and it's ok. But I use also Vienna Imperial and I can't find how to use MIRx with it.

Does MIRx works with Imperial paino?

    Regards,

    Luca

  • Hello Luca,

Vienna Imperial is a specific software that does not have MIRx implemented.
But the reverb options in the Imperial will match the MIRx settings for your Special Editions quite well.

If you'd need more flexibility AND the Vienna Imperial available in MIR, MIR PRO 24 or MIR PRO will be  good choice.

    Best,

  • Thank you Paul, effectively convolution in Imperial match MIRx quite well. I think that "distant" perspective is more realistic to simulate MIRx, but I've not found yet the matching between Dry/Wet ratio (MIRx) and Reverb Amount (Imperial).

I will try Mir Pro but at the moment it is out of budget for me.

    Hi Luca,

You can achieve this by adjusting the reverb's volume in Vienna Imperial's interface. Another important aspect is the instrument's stereo width. For believable "distance" make sure to reduce this value considerably.

    Kind regards,

Ok, now I'm trying Imperial in MIR Pro 24. Relying on some tests it seems that "Close perspective" is best (with Imperial reverb set to -inf) for inserting the piano in MIR. Is it correct?

I've tried the other presets in MIR for "Player" and "Distant" and they seems less... real.
