  • Cubase 9 Error-too many applications are registered

Cannot access Vienna Instruments Pro. I get an error message saying "too many applications are registered" and Cubase crashes. No other elicensed products cause a problem. Updated to the latest version of Vienna Instruments Pro.

  • Are you running the latest version of eLicenser?

Also helps to know version of Cubase, OS, etc.

If eveything is on the latest version, you can try changing the properties of the eLicenser to run as administrator.

  • Cubase 9.0.30

Latest Elicenser. when I run Elicenser first all my licenses show up. When I start Cubase Elicenser goes blank and stalls. Running Windows 10 64 bit. Could this relate to recent license rfestrictions? Used to use Vienna Ensemble.

  • I noticed that in my VSL account licenses are mentioned for Vienna Instruments Pro 5, but it does not appear under my downloads or in Elicenser.

    Hello wxyz,

Sounds like something gets in the way of eLicenser there. A restart should solve this.

I checked your account, and you ordered 2 demo licenses for VI PRO in 2010 (which were never used), and then purchased it (3 unused licenses)...

You can check your registrations here, and if you click the small "i" next to the serial number, you will get your Activation Code to download the license (if the Activation Code was not used before).

Feel free to contact us with any specific questions at support@vsl.co.at, and please include some screenshots and more information on your system.

    Best,
    Paul

  • Downloaded a new license and that seemed to work. I fear my dongle is too old.m Thanks for your help. How would I initiate a "restart'?

  • Hi wxyz,

    Good to hear!

Maybe it's time to get a new eLicenser.

Moving licenses between eLicenser USB keys is simple:
    1) Connect both keys to your computer
    2) Open the eLicenser Control Center
    3) Drag the license(s) from one key to the other key.

With restart I simply meant restarting your computer...

    Best,
    Paul
