  • Am not seeing some of my plugins in the FX list on VE Pro.

    Hi all,

I'm new to VE Pro (most recent version of V6), and I've set up everything (am using VE Pro on the same computer in order to help with Cubase's inefficient CPU use) correctly and everything is seeing each other perfectly.

The issue I'm having is that some plugins (Ozone 6, most Waves plugins except for one, and a few other plugins) are not showing up, though many from the exact same folder are. Any ideas? It's clearly seeing the correct folder since many plugins are there, so why do you think it's not seeing certain plugs? The ones that aren't showing up are all VST3 64-bit, and VE Pro is running in 64-bit, so it's definitely not a 32 vs 62-bit issue since there are no 32-bit plugins at all on the computer. Almost all VST3 64-plugins ARE showing up, so I'm not sure why a few aren't -- of course the majority of them happen to be the ones I need to use VE Pro for! All of the plugins show up in Cubase or Reaper, just not all of them in VE Pro.

I've rescanned plugins in VE Pro a couple of times, and this does not solve the issue. I'm on Mac Pro, latest version of Sierra.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Hi Headland7,

Welcome to the forum, and to VEP if you are a new user!

Sometimes answers come slow on the forum> I often find it helpful to search the forum as most problems I run into, as they are rarely unique to me. :)

I have the same issue with Waves, but there is a solution.

Do a search for Shell2VST and it will point you to the solution. Help this helps...

  • Hi,

Yes, what about them? Waves plug-ins work fine on OS X. Any troubles with Waves plug-ins on your system?

    Best,

  • On my Windows 10 machine the only Waves plugin that shows up after a scan is the Free VU meter. The waves shells show up in the scan but when it finishes the only plugin available in VE Pro 6 is the free VU meter. I have not been able to get the forum suggestion of a shell2vst solution to work as it seems to be an out dated workaround. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Nick

Update I got waves plugins to work in Windows 10 with VE Pro 6 using the forum entry below. At first I overlooked pacman's download link. Once I downloaded and installed shell2vst64.exe I had to right click it, select properties, select compatiblity, and then I clicked run this program as an administrator. Then I followed pacmans instructions below. This also works for other waves shells that pacman does not mention.

yes, just place WaveShell-VST 9.6_x64.dll & WaveShell-VST 9.7_x64.dll onto shell2vst64.exe and a folder called 'Waves' will be produced: inside will be the plugins you have purchased and you may move these to where ever is most convenient. Hope this clarifies. Shell2, 32bit and 64bit is available at  http://www.xlutop.com/buzz/zip/shell2vst.zip
