  • Trumpet confusion in special editions

Hi all - In the process of getting my first VEP6/LPX LAN template assembled I have stumbled upon what appears to me to be some confusing labelling ideosyncracies regarding the special ed. trumpets. I have SE 1 and 1 Plus as well as SE 2 and 2 Plus. When I loaded the C trumpet patches they do sound like C trumpets but the available low register (to E concert) is for Bb trumpet. Can anyone explain what is actually going on in this regard? There is no indication that there are any Bb trumpets, however the Tr-a3 patches sound like Bb trpts to me but their low register (to F# concert) is for the C trumpet. What up again. Are there any single (solo)  Bb patches and if so how do load them? While reading the archives on these issues I have come accross posts that prefer to use multiple trumpet patches (more than one trumpet sample in the patch) when trying to emulate a full trumpet section playing. It occurrs to me that when using actual trumpet samples of multiple players (3 for example) that a 4 part harmony trumpet section is going to sound like 12 players whereas a single trumpet sample patch playing the four different notes would be a more accurate emulation. Any thoughts. Thanks for clearing up my Bb trumpet confusion. -Tuxedo
