  • Novice question - how to play Epic Orchestra files??

    Hi all.

New to VSL but not new to samplers and software; maybe I'm missing something but downloading the right software & getting everyhting to work is not intuative or easy ðŸ˜¢

So, step 1 - I bought VSL Ensemble Pro 6 & I get Epic Orchestra with it for free (yay!)

v6 comes with = Vienna Ensemble Pro 6.0.16502

    • Vienna Ensemble Pro (32-bit)
    • Vienna Ensemble Pro (64-bit)
    • Vienna Ensemble Pro Server (32-bit)
    • Vienna Ensemble Pro Server (64-bit)
    • Vienna Ensemble Pro Plugins (AU, VST, VST3, AAX, MAS)
    • Uninstall Vienna Ensemble Pro

Step 2 - Folow the instructions @ https://www.vsl.co.at/en/MyVSL & download the software. Whilst the Ensemble Pro is a .dmg file & easy to install, I've now "installed" Epic Orchestra & have a bunch of .cab files !! What the hell am i supposed to do with these?

Step 3 - If I assume I'm to use Vienna Instruments I see the only download available is 'Vienna Instruments & Vienna Ensemble Software 5.4' - an older version of my Ensemble v6 ???

When i read the manul for v5.4 it states "Vienna Ensemble, is automatically installed with Vienna Instruments"

How do I play the Epic Orchestra files??

  • Hi,

    Happy to help:

    1) Well done!

    2) Click "INSTALL" in the Download Manager, installation will start right away.

    3) Yes, Vienna Instruments is the sample player you need. It also installs Vienna Ensemble (that's the non-PRO version of VE PRO), no need to worry.

    Best,
    Paul
