  • How do I move my VSL instruments to a different drive?

    Greetings

Since my SSD drive failed, I have been redownloading and installing my instruments on my backup drive. When my replacement SSD drive comes, I'll want to move these instruments over to it.

How do I do this without actually having to reinstall?

    thanks!

  • Just drag them to the new drive, run directory Manager, and drag the new locations into that

    Hi,

    "Running the Directory Manager":

Please open the Directory Manager (find it in "Applications" (OS X) or "All Programs" (Win) => then "Vienna Instruments").

Remove all folders - then add all sample content again by drag and drop from your Finder/Explorer.

More information about how the Directory Manager works can be found in the video "How to use the Directory Manager".

  • Fantastic, thanks!

  • it's now 2022 and this thing is always called "Directory Manager"

Imagine you'r installing a new computer. Takes ages, hundreds of vst vsti, licenses.. not to mention setting up that computer working etc.. and you have to remember a name as vague as "directory manager" just for vsl.

oh and the logo is a magnifier. Like 99% of windows logo to "manage" some "directories".

why not "vsl manager", "vsl libraries" or "Hey_this_is_the_thing_you_need_for_VSL_to_run.manager.clic.me.now" whatever but VSL ! each time takes me dozens of test to find that...

  • Hi,

Working on this - Stay tuned!
