  • external midi sound module as slave/sounds bank

    Hi everyone,

It's unlikely to be possible, but does anyone know if it is possible to upload the Vienna library (special edition vol1) into a midi/external sound module so one can use the sounds on live gigs, without needing a slave laptop?

    thanks

    Duarte P.

  • No, though you could build a NUC or MAC Mini system that would have that function. Not really different than a laptop though.

  • yeah..
I had thought of a Mac Mini, actually..but i'd still have to have a screen in order to run Logic, or some other sequencer, and attach all the sounds i needed for the gig, in the session, correct ?

What i am trying to get around is all that..
I wouldnt mind spending sometime building a custom map for a few instruments, in order to channel them through the sound module..but..  after that, it would have to be Plug-n'play.
Hell, the trouble it is just to assembling the Midi through the computer... and connect everything to the PA system.. i might as well just pack the acoustic vibraphone,, and percussion..instead of the malletKat, and pads..
    Its easier, and cheaper  .
Its just dumb spending money on the Vienna library... and not being able to use them live.. without a PC.
I guess it is one of those rookie mistakes.. i will have to correct with more $ on a module with another midi library.

    Any ither suggestions ?

    thanks for the feedback
