    Hi all! I´m looking to buy a powerful PC to use as a slave and I am wondering if I might encounter any issues with the specs I´ve chosen. I am absolutely new to this so my questiosn might seem a bit too simple....anyways.... My basic doubts are if I should buy an older processor with more cores like the i7 8800. I am also wondering if it is really necesary to use 3200Mhz Ram, or if I should go for 32 DDR4 2400Mhz. 

    Here are the specs that looked more attractive. Any observation/suggestion is more than welcomed!

    MASTER MacPro

    2.9Ghz Intel Core i7

    8 DDR3 Ram (I guess I should definetly go to 16 right? Even if it is the master computer?)

    SLAVE PC

    i7 7740X  4.3Ghz 4 cores 8 threads 8.0 MB Cache

    16 DDR4 Ram 3200Mhz

    The important if you use libs is Memory and fast I/O (SSD) specially using VSL libs

    After it is to you to ALWAYS have a few MB of Memory free and never use the swap files

    With 8 GB you will not be able to use Large Template

    You need to play with the different parameters of VSL and your DAW,  to find out what are the best value for your configuration and the size of music templates
