    Hi there,

I posted my first Version of Mussorgski's Masterpiece some months ago. Now as I have the SE 2+ I upgraded my project. Would you please have a look and comment. Spent 254.349³ hours on that...

Dont know how to get more out of the SE 1 and 2

    Any tips? Comments?

  • WOW. This is simply an OUTSTANDING performance. I am totally amazed you can do this with SE. Your efforts have really paid off. This proves to whiners (like me;))  that VSL is not the limitation but ony how well one uses it.

Barring a few milliseconds here or there, this sounds to me like its played by a live orchestra (well... to clarify this statement considering recent discussions about how 'live' doesnt always mean 'good', let me say that this sounds like a top tier live orchestra)

And how on earth did you get those oboe passages to sound so realistic, not to mention the strings and other woodwinds?? Mindblowing.

I hope this gets into the VSL demos.

    Cheers

    Anand

  • This performance doesn't need any tips and only positive comments. It's simply great what you did with the SEs and to get mote out of them? I wouldn't know. All the rest is interpretation of existing pieces and there are as many opinions as there are listeners and performers. The only hint I can give you now is: time for an own composition with the performing skills you've acquired!

    I'm looking forward to it,

    Jos

Very well done. Especially for the SE libraries. I would love to hear what you could do with the full libraries. What did you use for spatialization/reverb?

  • Wow this is amazing, very good!

one question: what articulation did you use in the strings and in the picollo right on the begginig of the music to do those fast notes sound like one but almost like it was an glissando ( legato, portato )?

    Serious i liked very muchhhhh!!!

  • When I was listening, I remarked that I was holding my breath, you made wonderful music, and I love that! Thank you so much!

  • Very impressive job on this,  and it shows how much can be done with the SE versions.

  • Hey,

thanks a lot. It was verry much work and so I'm glad you like it.

About the question with the pic and the glissiandoeffect - there is allways a trace of another instrument - this case some Viola and normal Flute. So the arrangement does most of the work.

The articulation... there is not "the" articulation. ;) This is verry handmade and sometimes one note took 23times of trying and erroring... or 52times. I allways use different articulations in different orders with different settings different colours. This is the freedom I need to make it sound like that. So sorry, the answer isn't easy to get. ;)
