  • VE Pro 6 Crashing

I am trying to set up my VE Pro 6 template but VE Pro keeps crashing when I am inserting MIR Pro. I do not know how to troubleshoot this. I have tried downgrading to an earlier version of VE Pro 6. but It's still crashing. I'm currently using 6.0.16502. I have only 10 Kontakt instruments of LASS loaded and the RAM is only at 18%.

I am using Mac 10.11.6 and Logic Pro 10.3.3

I would appreciate any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot this. I would love to get MIR Pro set up in VE Pro and buy it! (currently using demo but crashing has meant that I cannot test it properly yet!)

    Best regards,

    Felix

  • Thank you I will do.

I was trying this with the VE Pro slave server on the same machine. I am now testing it on an old mac pro, which is having its own issues but its not crashing.

I will send any crash logs to that address, thank you!

  • Hello composerguy78,

Did Support offer any advice on your VE Pro 6 crashes. I just installed the demo recently and I'm also having crashes, where it just disappears completely and then I get the message that it quit unexpectidly. I have sent my crash log files to Support, so shall wait for their advice, but in the meantime, thought to ask you if you had a solution to your crashes, in case it could apply to my case too.

    Thank you.

  • I actually bought a Windows machine after this and so I didn't need to pursue this any further on the mac. Sorry, I realize that is not much help!

  • Well, actually it might be of help, as it might suggest that the issue is related to using a Mac, if you are no longer having issues with Windows, using VE Pro 6. :)

I just thought they might have come back to you? But perhaps you told them not to look in to it further?

  • Yes I never ended up sending my crash reports or pushing it further.

  • Thanks for confirming that. I found the solution for my issue, and will mention it here, in case anyone has similar problems.

It was because I selected the 32 bit version of Vienna Ensemble Pro Server (as that was the one that appeared in my Mac dock), but went to the containing folder to find the 64 bit version icon, clicked on it and have no problems now. I put the 64 bit version on my dock, for easy access. Thanks to Paul Kopf at VSL Team for the suggestion and help.
