  • Differences between Synchron and Previous Presets

Perhaps Paul can offer some insight into these curiousities.

The Synchron Presets do not have Interval Map as an option for performance.

If the user copies a slot from a Synchron preset and attempts to paste it into a pre-Synchron instrument, it will not paste ("paste slot" is grayed out).

A Synchron patch can be loaded (i.e. dragged and dropped) into a pre-Synchron instrument, slot, and Interval Map can be applied. A Synchron patch can also be copied and pasted to a different non-Synchron instrument, or to a Synchron preset (as in the "orange" file).

In other words upstream, anything from pre-Synchron to Synchron copies and pastes, but downstream, from Synchron backwards, there are limits.

[ Another curiousity: Controller Mappings cannot be swapped. "Paste Controller Mappings" will be grayed out when moving from pre-Synchon to Synchron. ]

We are in a brief window of time before the Synchron player is introduced, so my questions are not urgent. But I am working on templates, so I ask:

    1. Will the Synchron player have Interval Map as a performance option (and by extension, will we be able to assign delays and rise / fall per slot to Synchron patches)?

    2. Is the current limitation of Synchron slot copy and paste function intentional, and does it suggest the Synchron will play be different rules than what VSL users have come to know?
