    Hi there - I recently purchased a super expensive PC server just for VEP since I am on constant score deadlines. To my horror, everyday when I load up a big VEP template, it stalls, freezes and I have to force quit at around 78%! Then I have to dig around to what plugin it might be and then change the directory so that VEP can't find it and will ask me to about loading so it can finish loading the rest.

    Most of my samples I moved from a Mac computer to a PC and I batch resaved everything, however it seems as if some of the plugins are stalling the load. So even when I remove or rename the folders, VEP always finds something to stall on. I can't acertain if this is a Mac to PC problem or some other issue.

    Any help appreciated!

    Which plug-ins are problematic? 
    Are you using all the latest versions of all plug-ins?

     

    Please create a process dump when VE PRO freezes/hangs,  see the following image on how to create a minidump with process explorer:

    Thanks so much Paul, I will on next attempt. The ones that crased are 8Dio, Orchestral Tools Inspire and NI Thrill.

    Seems like the larger the template gets some random plugin cases this stall.

    Hi Paul. I downloaded and ran processexplorer.aspx but it stays minimized in the launch tray and won't expand so I can see whats going on. Do you know a solution?

    I had this problem on a Mac.

    It was a memory problem. I cannot remember if it was faulty memory or loading too much for the memory you have.

    I cannot help you to check this on a PC, sorry !

    Ask to a PC guru how to check faulty memory and how to check if you are using the swap file and you are running of disk space

    I just had this computer custom made just for VEP 256GB of RAM so no limitations - Does VEP or Kontakt have a Ram limit?

    Did you run a RAM test, you may have a faulty RAM

    Always the fallback is faulty RAM. I cannot load Vienna Ensemble AT ALL. It hangs, freezes then creates havoc on the entire system. This is all because Vienna keeps trying to load the plug ins. Maybe its useful to some but it is a game stopper for others.
