    I just saw these machines with 128 GB RAM for around $1000 total. 
     
    Would this or a similar refurbished Dell make a good VE Pro Slave machine?

    Are you using MIR Pro? If yes, the CPU could be too slow. Otherwise, it looks good.

    Thankyou. Yes! I certainly am planning on using MIR Pro. 

    What CPU would I need for this kind of system would you say?

    I would go with an Intel CPU with minimal 4 cores @ 3+ GHz. The more the better.

    In my opinion the new 8th gen CPUs should work perfectly (i7-8700K or i5-8600K).
