  • Synchron Strings - Murron's Burial

I did a rendition of the burial scene from Braveheart if anyone is interested in hearing it.

It is Synchron Strings, using the VE Pro templates provided by VSL and VSL Solo Violin layered over top of the soaring melodies.

Murron's Burial - Braveheart (Synchron Strings)

    Thanks

  • Well done and a good exercise in using  virtual instruments and the Synchron Strings. Good music as well!

  • Fantastic mix, and very artistically performed.

  • Thank you Jos and Paul, I really appreciate the positive feedback!

I am going to do another 1-2 mixes of this playing around with some things to see how it comes out.  I have superb studio monitors but no subwoofer and I am not sure if orfium is adding more bass to it than the original, or if it's my fault in the mix.  The problem is in my studio over my monitors and using my studio headphones I don't quite hear as much overpowering bass.  It sounds fantastically balanced here but am concerned it's a little overwhelming in the orfium version.

Do either of you or anyone feel that way about the bass/bottom end in this mix?  I say this because I played it on my iphone through my apple headphones and it sounded a bit bassy to me.

Thanks again for the wonderful feedback!

  • I see, I missed this thread when it was posted. Apart from the very good mix and beautiful playing, this piece shows clearly how very good Synchron Strings 1 are. I listened yesterday to some other libraries (from other companies) and I just could conclude: Synchron Strings 1 are extraordinarily good, the sound is so deeply real and beautiful. I'm so glad I can use this library. And concerning the bass/bottom end: here I don't hear a to bassy sound (but I listened with studio monitors).

  • Hi MMKA,

Thanks for the feedback it's really helpful.  I am also really liking these strings right now and trying them in new contexts.

I appreciate you letting me know about the mix.  I listened yesterday to another mix of another song and got the same feeling on my cheap iPhone headphones but my studio monitors etc. sounded fine.  So I believe my cheap headphones on the iPhone should probably best not be used to determine anything on my mixes.

Thanks again, I really appreciate it!
