  • VSL not appearing in Logic Pro X

Hi all. I just installed my libraries on my new computer. The sounds are on an external. When I fire up Vienna Ensemble alone, I can load all the sounds just fine. However, I record using Logic Pro X. VSL is nowhere to be found in my list of plug ins in Logic. My theory is something with the sounds is not routed to its proper place, and frankly I have no idea how to fix it. I've reset my computer, reset my drivers, and still it is not appearing in my list of plug ins. Please help me, what can I try?

  • Hi,

Check that the plug-ins are validated in Logic's Plugin Manager. If necessary, validate them manually.

  • I've loaded my plug-in manager. VSL is not appearing in there at all. How could I go about manually doing?

  • Hi,

I'd uninstall and reinstall Vienna Instruments (use the included Uninstaller to do so).

    Does it work then?

  • A simple reboot of the computer solved this problem in my case

  • Hey Everyone,

I am having a similar problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Vienna Instruments with the uninstaller, and when I load logic the VI player does not show up. The Vienna Ensemble does show up but not the VI player. I have gone through this, restarted the computer a few times, and I'm feeling pretty stuck. Any theories?

  • Hi Taylor,

Did you check in the Plug-in Manager? Is Vienna Instruments listed there?

  • Hi Taylor,

You may need to delete your AU cache file first, which will force Logic to re-scan for plug-ins the next time you launch it:

    1. Quit Logic Pro X.

    2. Click on your Desktop wallpaper to focus the Finder.

    3. Click on Go in the menu bar, hold down the Option key on your keyboard, and choose Library from the Go menu.  This will take you to the User(!) Library folder

    4. Once inside the User Library folder, go to the Caches folder and then the AudioUnitCache folder.

    5. Drag this file to the trash: com.apple.audiounits.cache

    6. Empty the trash.

    7. Restart your computer.

    8. Restart Logic X.

    Does that help?

    Best, Marnix

  • Hi,

I just got my key for the VSO sounds I purchased. I've installed them as per instructions.

When opening LogicPro X, I can see the VSL plugins. I downloaded a sample that VSL has to demo sounds in Logic.

When playing it, there are no sounds. I've followed the process of trashing the cache and having Logic re-scan the AU, but there's still no sound.

    Anyone else has similar issue?
