  • Synchron String I Articulation Question

    Hi!

In the manual (VSL_SynchronStrings_I_Manual_v1.pdf) on page 16 in the description of the patch 17F VI-14_Leg-Fast-Vib_Close (which is LeFM in the default matrix) is stated:

    [..]
    Trills/fast legato, with vibrato
Trills up to 4th, all other intervals legato
    [..]

What does "Trills up to 4th" mean? I can not figure out how to play trills with this patch? Or does this mean "playable trills" so that I have to play th trill for myself? If so, why "up to the 4th"?

    Thanx in advance
    Regards
    Martin

  • All the older full libraries contain the fast legatos and the performance trills, newer ones were recorded only with performance trills for faster intervals (e. g. Dimension Brass).

So, the fast legatos in Synchron Strings are a combination of both.

Here is a quote from a post I found via search:
" [ ... ] The fast legato has 6 variations - that makes it also work as a performance trill. That was the whole point of performance trills; many different legato transitions so you don't get machine gunning on trills."

And these different legato transitions are up to 4th. Hope I'm right. :)

    Got it 😊
This reads plausible and it also sounds the way you described it.

    Thanx!!
