  • CFX velocity levels

    Hello,

Due to the strong inferior number of data compared to the Vienna Imperial, I'm just curious to learn how much velocity levels are included in the CFX ?

It seems I feel some gap between the velocity levels of the CFX

    Thanks

    Philippe

  • You don't have to worry about it.

I've seen graphic data on velocity somewhere, and the gap between velocities was more narrow and detailed than any other virtual instrument.

    Hi
  • Well...I can't figure how a sampled piano of 1,45 GB (if you turn on just the closed mic for example) can be as much detailed as, let say the vienna imperial with his 100 velocity levels...Is the data highly compressed ?

  • Where have you seen 1,45 GB?

  • Close Mic 1 takes 25 GB space...
The value on bottom of the Synchron Player is the amount of data loaded into the RAM (Preloaded Samples).
The rest of the samples are streamed from drive.

  • Got it !

Thanks for the information and sorry for the confusion

Anyway, I'm still curious to learn how much velocity levels by note were recorded for the CFX (100 for the Vienna Imperial)

  • Hello Philippe,

Those are 2 very different products, mainly because the stage plays such an important role.

Each note has at least 60 recorded velocities with the Yamaha CFX, and with the repetition system in the background, there will be more added, depending on how and what you play.

    Best,

  • Yes, a velocity curve seems very good, close to Imperial.
