  • [SOLVED] Vienna Suite Plugin not seen in Vienna Ensemble

    Hi,

I'm using the trial version of Vienna Suite with Cakewalk SONAR and Vienna Ensemble 6.0.16999 (64-bit).  I can see the Vienna Suite as a series of vst plugins within SONAR and can add them ok.  However, in Vienna Ensemble I do not see the Vienna Suite plugin even though the vst path is added to the list under vst settings.  I've tried the obvious things like rescanning but the plugins are not being picked up.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

    Much appreciated,

    Chris

  • Please make sure you have installed the VST2-version of any plug-in you want to use in Vienna Ensemble / Pro. While VE / Pro is available as VST3-plug-in itself, it can't host plug-ins in that format.

Apart from that, the 32bit-version won't be able to use 64bit plug-ins, and vice-versa.

  • Ok, so VST2 and VST3 have been installed with Vienna Suite but have been installed to a different directory.  When I start my project within SONAR, Vienna Ensemble starts up in 64-bit mode.  I can then re-connect in 32-bit mode and can see the Vienna Suite plugins within Vienna Ensemble.  I can also add the alternative directory to the vst list within Vienna Suite and then stick with a 64-bit connection and the Vienna Suite plugins are now seen.

As for VST3, is there a need to also include this directory in the Vienna Ensemble vst list?

    Thanks,

    Chris

  • Hi Chris,

VST3 is not used by Vienna Ensemble, so you don't need to include this directory in its plug-in path preferences.

Sidenote: VST3 plug-ins can't be managed manually easily, so I would stick with the default locations anyway.

    Kind regards,

  • You're welcome! Can I mark this thread as "solved" then? :-)
