Vienna Instruments MIDI is the only option that inputs MIDI from the A-pro
GI-20 (guitar to trigger MIDI) = not working
A-Pro MIDI In = not working
A-Pro 1 = not working
A-Pro 2 = not working

Hi Paul,
Roland-A-300PRO is a Keyboard-Controller
https://www.amazon.com/Roland-A-300PRO-Keyboard-Controller/dp/B004UFICJW
I mostly use the Roland GI-20 to trigger MIDI from a guitar. It's confusing as to why when GI-20 input is selected, it does not trigger MIDI. Only Vienna Instruments MIDI, triggers Vienna Instruments Pro2.
Workflow 1 (the way I normally setup)
DAW> insert VIP2> trigger by GI-20
Workflow 2
It is my understanding that when using a DAW (Cakewalk by Bandlab) I'm suppose to run
1) Vienna Ensemble Service x64
2) Vienna Ensemble PRO x64
3) DAW (somehow connect to Vienna Ensemble x64 to connect to plugins)
An updated Setup tutorial would be really helpful.
Hi sadicus,
What exactly does not work?
In general, your sequencer will record MIDI from wherever it is piped in, and then passes it on to your VST plug-ins.
Regarding Vienna Ensemble: Insert the VE plug-in in your sequencer, the VE SERVICE will start right away.
For Vienna Ensemble PRO, please start the VE PRO SERVER first, then insert the VE PRO plug-in and connect to your VE PRO Server.
This is the link to our software video tutorials.
Hope that helps!
Best,
Paul
