Hello,
please, is it right to format the ssd hosting the SY libraries as APFS file system?
my external ssd where I want to install the libraries comes as EX/FAT from the manufacturer

If you're using a Mac, use HFS+ Journaled; NON-case sensitive. Avoid APFS. The second choice would be ExFat, but I don't think TRIM will work on a Mac with ExFat. That's been my experience.

I have all my VSL and other samples on an external APFS SSD and have had no problems whatsoever. APFS is a much more modern and robust file system than HFS+.
In Terminal, I ran the command "sudo trimforce enable" to make sure Trim was enabled.
APFS - HFS+

Thanks for the support.
I indeed knew that APFS is optimized for solid-state drive, though being necessary for H SIerra *booting* SSD only, Apple eventually let the user free to chose the format, likely accordingly to specific uses. That's why I believe that it would be helpful to get some more specification from the VSL stuff concerning the best test result SSD formatting system (on High Sierra) to be used with Syncron Player. Thanks to the stuff for a focus on the Trim point too. I will use a Samsung T5 on USB 3.
Best, Diego
