  • Dorico 2 and VSL Expression Maps Collaboration

    Hi,

The main gist of this thread is to call out to Dorico 2/VSL users to share some Expression maps that are useable with VSL for now.

I have just spent a while trying to get imported VST Expression Maps to work with absoluteluy no success; eg VSL High Woodwinds+Brass  Woodwind 2 instruments. (If I am missing something here, please direct me to the correct thread or set me straight!)

So the only way I seem to be able to get an EMap to work with Woodwinds 2 is to build one from scratch. Editing the imported one does not work at all for some reason. I don't have all of my dongles with me right now to check other VSL sets, but will go through them when I am at the studio.

So, is there a working shared resource of working maps for Dorico out there?

Can we use this thread to share?

I am happy to start putting some together and post.

    Best,

    Ben

  • Hi Ben,

Dorico don't have all expression map features implemented yet (more information here (look out for posts from Daniel): https://www.steinberg.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=246&t=135922

This may be the reason why you are not happy with the imported VSL Cubase expression maps.

  • Thanks Ben,

The imported Dimension Strings Expression Maps as imported are proving more successful. Some  of the keyswitch/mod based articulations are being effected correctly, some need a rejig!

    B
