I enjoyed this piece. An inventive, well-produced work with some unique orchestration and unexpected twists and turns. Cheers, DaveThanks Dave, glad to hear a fellow composer found the movement enjoyable! Jerry
Hi Jerry,
I share my opinion with Dave (Acclarion), basically. I liked how the piece balances between quiet and loud moments, maintaining tension all the time. Those vocals at about 3:15 (and on) sounded somewhat ominous to me for a few seconds, then the feeling was gone. That's an example of an unexpected twist for me.
On the production side, the percussive instruments sounded a bit out of place to me (they don't sit in the mix well).
In short, I enjoyed!
Cheers, Crusoe.
Wow, Jerry, this is quite impressive. At times it reminds me of the scanning choir style of Carl Orff, at times I heard something like a film overture with powerful and percussive strings in spiccati. But most of all the carefull balance in the orchestra and the direct and detailed sound please me a lot. Your masterfull orchestration keeps it interesting and surprising for the whole duration.
For sure, I'm an admiror!
