  • What is the Synchron Players CPU Meter showing?

    Hi,

What is the Synchron Players CPU Meter showing? In the attached screenshot the CPU Meter in Synchron Player shows 58.33% and is peaking a lot at 100%. But at the same time the CPU usage in Windows Task Manager shows 12%. Are they metering different things or is the meter in Synchron Player not working correctly?

  • This is the same for me too -- two different readings from the CPU meter and my task manager.

  • Which meter should I trust? Synchron Player makes me think my CPU is not enough, but according to Windows 10 there are plenty of resources available.

It would be nice if someone at VSL could answer this, so we're not fooled to buy new hardware unnecessarily.

  • And the "CPU usage" meter in VEP is showing a third, even higher value...

I tried to experiment with the "Streaming threads" value in Synchron Player and "Multiprocessing Threds" in VEP. I can choose a value between 1 and 16 but it doesn't matter, the CPU-usage is at the same value. How are these settings supposed to work?

    Paul?

  • I had the same problem, and I discover it's coming from disk streaming speed.

In some way, the meter merge performance of processing data influenced by read/stream speed.

A precise explanation and trouble shooting by VSL technicians should be really welcome.

  • Yeah,
A precise explanation by VSL technicians should be really welcome. Someone from VSL who can explain this?
