Hi whlederman,

Glad to see you're happy!

You can always deactivate Velocity Xfade for separate patch slots (like in VI PRO), see attached pic!

Best,
Paul

Did I see it correctly from the video that there the percussion does not include Timpani? If so it seems a strange omission.

All in all this appears to be a cheap way getting one's hands wet in the Synchron environment (Stage and Player).

I hope this does not point to the VI line becoming vestigial.

Hi DaddyO,

VESTIGIAL! I'm learning new words every day, thanks!

You are correct, no timpani included in this super-affordable product

Don't worry: Just because we designed a product that offers a different way of handling our instruments, this doesn't make the VI Universe vestigial.

Best,
Paul

Paul,

Re: "Vestigial," LOL. Sometimes a particular word just captures a thought perfectly. To me "vestigial" captures the concern quite well. The human body contains a number of organs and structures thought to have been useful at some point in past with further development of the body they wither into uselessness.

I suppose it's unfair to imply uselessness, since one will be able to continue the use of VI instruments even if active development slows and perhaps ceases. At least they can do so until the operating systems that support them are retired.

Anyway, hopefully you can understand that this concern about the Synchron series is out there for people who have invested a lot in the VI series.  I appreciate your response. Judging from other forums I am not the only one with this concern.

Best wishes on the launch of this new product. As an owner of the entire Special Edition bundle, this certainly does give me a chance to dip my toes into the water that is the Synchron line.
