Hi, I just discovered that the Preset Cloning described Synchron Player Manual (English, v. 1.2) doesn't work completely.
If I follow the instruction to clone the instrument structure of Violas and replace Instrument Abbreviations / ID / folder to those for Cellos. Then I paste it to an new instance.
I got the same instrument structure for both Violas and Cellos and correct samples, but the range for Cellos is the same as for Viola and that's not what I wish. And because the range is set per cell, it's nothing I like to manually change afterwards.
So the instruction need to be updated to include a replacement of the rangeFrom and rangeTo values aswell. But to use "replace all" for these it assumes that all cells have the same range, otherwise I do not know how to solve it ...?

Ok, it seems to be a bug too...
If I in the cloned Cellos instrument (that has the Violas range) try to load the factory preset 04 Cellos-8 VelXF the Violas range retains. And it doesn't matter what factory preset I load. The range is still the one I cloned from the Violas.
The only workaround I find is to create an new instance and load the factory preset, then the range will be correct. But in that case I have to redo all routing of the individual microphones in VEP.

Hello prodamu!
I can reproduce what you describe. We will look into it. Meanwhile please replace the values of "rangeTo" and "rangeFrom" as well.

Midi CCs for the various controls don't get copied either when cloning presets, and have to be manually rechanged.
Legato polyphony and number of voices as well.

Hello mikeheels!
Settings on the PERFORM and on the CONTROL pages are separate from the dimension tree structure. They can be copied as well, if you rightclick the tabs.

Hello Michele!
I'm not sure which problem you mean. If you mean how to solve the range problem after changing a preset from one instrument to another, please replace lines that include "rangeTo" and "rangeFrom".

Hi Andi,
Yeah I mean how to properly clone presets, could you provide more detailed instructions on this "range" additioni?
As I don't really understand what to do. I can do everything that's in the manual (and I did) but need help doing this.
I need to clone my Violins1 and 2 preset to Violas, Cellos and Basses.
Thanks for your help

Hello Michele!
Look with your text editor for lines that include "rangeTo" and "rangeFrom". Remove these lines. If you have small presets, I would remove those lines step by step. If you have big presets, the use of Regular Expressions, which some text editors support, may help. Please understand that I can't give detailed instructions on Regular Expressions. I alwys have to look them up myself with Google.

Regex... the pain of every developer xD
You can try regexr.com. The site has a cheatsheet that will help you to build the regex.

Thanks, I'll try.
Do you mean removing those exact "rangeTo" and "rangeFrom" words or longer lines that include them?

Hi Andi,
I managed to clone my presets using regular expressions, except for basses and "Strings Full" which I believe have different patches and less articulations.
Thanks

Hello Michele!
Synchron Strings Double basses and "Strings full" have less articulations. I think the replacement should work for some articulations, but not for all.
