  • Vienna Pro Event input plugin

Is anyone using the Event input plugin in a large template with Logic Pro and VE Pro 6?

I am just setting up a new template and I would like to reduce the number of instances in my VE Pro Server template by accessing more than one midi port (so I'm not limited to 16 channels per instance).

I have heard that the Logic Multiport template is not reliable and so i'm not tempted to go there.

Does anyone have any experience with the Event Input Plugin in this way?

  • Hi there - sorry for the delay there - I haven’t set it up or used it. I realised that I need more tracks split out and not the other way around. Basically I don’t think I need it at the moment. Sorry I know that is not much help!

No problem - thanks for replying! So does that mean that you are using an instance-per-track/instrument? If so, is that working ok for you? I have been experimenting with the Event Unit plugin and having some success, apart from not being able to get the output from the Server channels to show up directly on the relevant Logic tracks. If I could sort that out then the E. U. plugin does seem to be a reasonably simple and elegant solution. However I have yet to test it with a large track count.
