  • Inserting a cell in a matrix, splitting the controller range

    Hi,

    When editing a matrix, sometimes I would need a way to replace two cells to one, and have the corresponding controller zone split in half.

    For example, imagine there is a cell "Vib" selected by the controller range 0-50. I would like to insert a "Vib_molto" cell after "Vib", but before the following "Pizz".

    | Vib | Pizz | --> | Vib | Vib_molto | Pizz |

    | 0-50 | 51-127 | --> | 0-20 | 21-50 | 51-127 |

    This would speed a lot repetitive programming, as when having to edit the same matrix in several different instruments.

    Is there a way to do it quick, whithout having to shift all cells and carefully reprogramming all the controller zones?

  • Any reason why you're not just using keyswitches?

  • I would be happy to use keyswitches, but many of VSL presets (for example, the ones matching Expression Maps) use CC1 to select cells on the X-Axis. I can't understand way (there is room for two octaves of keyswtiches, even for contrabasses, if starting from the lowest MIDI note).

    While I'm tempeted to rebuild all the presets with keyswitches, I feel life is not so long, so I'm trying to just adapt the existing ones.

    HI Paolo,

    Are you aware of this (undocumented) feature?

    Best,

  • Paul, the hidden string replacement window is fantastic! At this point, I can just create a template preset, with all the preferred settings, and replace the instrument abbreviations at the beginning of the name!

    That's great! Thank you!
