i recently bought a dell R610 server duel 2.67 12 core maching with 96 gigs of ram. and ssd drives to use as slave running VEP6 I have cubase running on my mac which is master. Are there settings in the pc i should tweak to make things run faster, more efficient and with least amount of latency?
upon testing a bit right away i notice more latencey than when i ran VEP6 on same cumputer as cubase.
i do have a gigabit hub with CAT 6 cables.

Hi,
Let VE PRO take care of the multi-threading (switch multi-threading off in all loaded plug-in), experiment a bit with the ideal thread setings in VE PRO (the more instances you use, the less threads per instance).
Don't overdo it on audio returns, but try to create some groups in VE PRO for your sub-mixes.
That would be the first steps, in my eyes.

Hi don’t use windows. U have to use Windows server 2016 OS. U should have company u order from install it on a system drive. Use an ssd the Samsung evos work well. They can install a trial version.
It is a server and os has to be configured for that.

Thanks! Thank you for the reply. To be honest I got scared and cancelled my order for the server rack. It seemed like too complicated and noisy so I’m considering now a custom built PC. I’ll have to spend more but it seems like a safer bet.

nicksaya_4552 Is this setup working out for you? Thinking about doing the same thing with the R610 server. Also does everything run within windows server (Kontakt, VEP, other plugins).
