  • Plugin Issues (Finale, Pro Tools, Sibelius)

Hi all, I've been having a couple of issues finding proper plugins for the various software that I wish to use Vienna for: Finale, Pro Tools, and/or Sibelius (still learning it). However, I am having issues finding the plugina in MyVSL. I have only found them for Sibelius and I am not getting any playback. I was able to get Vienna to play back through Pro Tools without plugins, but it is very choppy. I have to set the specific technique for each note (like pizzicato) anf if I use a MIDI keyboard to play something like a violin, it acts as if each note is an individual bow stroke. As you can probably imagine, this sounds incredibly unnatural. I've heard several keyboards able to recognize the difference of a string of notes being played versus individual attacks (like my 10 year old Roland), so I feel like something isn't right with what I am doing here. The tutorials that I managed to find seemed to be out of date and while I see mentions of Pro Tools plugins on the forums, I haven't been able to find anything on finding / installing them. I'm not even sure if Vienna still supports Finale! Please help me figure this out. And I am pretty new to music tech in general, so any additional advice is welcome! Thanks!

  • Hello mdb39!

Finale, Sibelius and Pro Tools are all supported.

If you install the "Vienna Instruments & Vienna Ensemble" software, the plugin-versions (AU, VST, AAX) get installed as well. You can find the latest manual and software versions here:

    Best regards,
    Andi
