  • Redundant Synchron String files

When this library was first released I downloaded all instruments and it played in VI Ensemble (they're placed in their own SY_xxx folders for each group, i.e. SY_Violins, SY_Cello, etc.). Now that the library has been "Synchron-ized" I was forced to download the library again in the Synchron format (they're placed together in a Synchron Strings folder). This seems to be using twice the disk space that's necessary, and it's HUGE.

Can I safely delete the first round of downloads, pre-Synchron-ized? The ones in foders beginning with the name "SY." And in doing so, would I lose the option of opening Synchron Strings in VI Ensemble?

  • Hello elambo,

If you erase your VI Sample Content of SY Strings, you cannot open Synchrion Strings in Vienna Instruments anymore.

I moves the VI Sample Content to a bigger, slower drive, so I can always access them when needed.

    Best,
    Paul

  • That's what I did -- moved them to a platter drive just in case -- and that freed up about 200 GB.
