thanks Paul!
I think some guidance around different approaches to using VEP (instances versus doing all in one instance using a mixer) would indeed be helpful to many, for example I have a couple of friends producing electronic music and none of them knew that VEP can be used as a "rendering farm", they we're very surprised. One of them even works at biggest Music Store around.
Most of them are using Ableton so to get into that whole scene, having examples or videos would imho be beneficial for you. We are also always struggling with CPU power (RAM not so much) especially when using Diva, Repro and all the other VSTi that sound amazingly but are CPU intensive. Another thing would be mapping CCs (is there any way to have the parameter names of the VSTi CCs be visible in Ableton(host)? "Drive Gain" instead of CC 11)
regarding the other topics:
- took me ages to find out what to install on the main computer just to get the vienna vst plugin
=> Hm. It's just the software installation, the same for every computer you want to use VE PRO on..
MS: I only have one dongle, for the "external" maschine, some confusion was around that. Also The naming of the different software was all very similar (VEP, VEP Pro, VEP Pro server etc)
- how do I get the embedded view for an audio effect plugin (like for the instruments), and not have it as a floating window?
=> Unfortunately you don't.
MS: maybe something for the future?
Thanks again!
