    Albinoni String Quartet

This is the first movement from one of Tomaso Albinoni's violin concertos arranged for string quartet.

Realized with the violin, viola, and cello from Solo Strings I Full + Solo Violin 2.

  • Sounds really great! Programming and mixing is convincing and a pleasure to listen to.
At 1:35 and 1:40 the repetitions have a slight "machinegun-effect" imo.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • That is great, beautifully done.  I couldn't continue to listen critically to the MIDI, it is so well performed, and was absorbed by the music of Albinoni - what a wonderful piece.

  • Beautifully done, Leslie. So realistic.

    Wonderful!

    xx

  • Fantastic performance, Leslie.

I'm quite fond of the close recording and detailed execution, especially while it is so difficult to 'tame' the vibrato with the solo strings. You did a terrific job here, coming as near as possible to the period playing technique.

    Well done, congrtas!

Thanks to everyone for your comments. They are much appreciated.

Here's another piece by Albinoni that I just completed:

    Albinoni: Allemanda

This is from one of his trio sonatas.

  • Hi Leslie,

both works are equally convincing, very smooth sample-wise, and enjoyable. Solo violin 2 fits the pieces very well, too, I thought (I own it and therefore understand why you decided to go with it).

    Cheers,

    Crusoe.

  • Mr. Sanford,

Well done sir. The performances are sharp but not too crisp as to sound too wooden and the mix/ballance works perfectly at least on my system.

    Thank you for sharing.

    Wonderful midi-performance. Congratulations.

  • Great work Leslie.

The quartet sells VSL better than a lot of other demos I've heard, get on the payroll. The intimacy and sense of performance is excellent as is the music of course.
