  • Combine matrices of sibelius presets?

    Hello all!

I am curious if there is a way to fit all patches for an instrument into a single matrix, rather than the multiple-per-instrument way the sibelius presets are set up. This way, I could have 1 matrix for all orchestral strings patches and another matrix for chamber strings all in the same channel, allowing me to use Matrix CC switching on my score in Sibelius to switch between the two.

How would I go about doing this, and would sibelius be able to detect the correct articulations if everything was in one big matrix?

    Thanks,

    Lincoln

  • Hello Lincoln!

You COULD make a matrix of 12x12 cells and put all articulations of an instrument inside. Anyway, this will be lots of work and making a sound set for it will be even more work.

There is an easier way to switch between Chamber Strings and Orchestral Strings. Simply make an instrument change between the "[VSL Orchestral Strings]" instrument and the "[VSL Chamber Strings]" instrument. Don't forget to assign both programs on the Manual Sound Sets page on different channels. In Vienna Ensemble load both VI presets in two instruments (with the same channels as set on the Manual Sound Sets page).

    Best regards,
    Andi
