  • Need advice for upgrading my computer (with Finale 26)

    Hi everyone!

I am new with VSL, bought in December and trying figure out the best way to work with it together Finale 26. However, I've realized that my computer (MacBookPro, early 2008 with 2,5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, El Capitan 10.11.6) is quite old, since I've encountered problems with playback, with VSL Ensembke as intergrated as midi unit. It works though as a stand-alone, connected with IAC, but only with small ensembles - a symphony orchestra is just to forget! :(
My question is - what should I go for if I am going to buy a new MBP? A faster/better processor? Better RAM? Or any advice regarding my present setup is much appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Anders N.

  • It depends of the number of intruments you want to play simultanously and how fast they play

VSL need a lot of memory ; 64GB is confortable for a large orchestra

Some people are using up to 6 computers !!!!!

You also need to put your libraries on  SSD on a STATA III interface

    MacBook Pro M3 MAX 128 GB 8TB - 2 x 48" screen --- Logic Pro --- Mir Pro 3D --- Most of the VI libs, a few Synch... libs --- Quite a few Kontakt libs --- CS80 fanatic
