  • Vienna Ensemble (Service) 6 does not load VST plugins.

    Hallo everybody,

    I have a PC (Windows 10, 64bit).

In the VES6 (64-bit) preferences, under VST Settings/VST Plugins Folders, I rescan all the folders where my VST-.dll files are.

During rescaning, VE6 is testing the VST-Plugins and I see that Kontakt5, EastWest-Play, Halion Sonic SE, Toontrack-EZDrummer and more are being tested, but when the rescaning is finished none of these VSTs are being added in the available Plugins

I am already using all of the above VSTs with Cubase 9.5, but I would like to intergrate them into the VE6.

    Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Are you using the rigth match up of 32bit / 64bit?

Dorico, Notion, Sibelius, StudioOne, Cubase, Staffpad VE Pro, Synchon, VI, Kontakt Win11 x64, 64GB RAM, Focusrite Scarlett 18i20, August Forster 190
  • Hallo Bill, Yes, I am using the VE6 64bit and I am trying to load (for example) the play64bit.dll. Greetings

  • I have also the latest updates and drivers installed for both VSL and Steinberg products by the way.

  • Make sure no plugin times-out during scan (can happen because of popup in the background, license-checking, crash of plugin).
I would try following: Reinstall the latest version of VEP, restart computer, move all but one plugins out of vst folder.
Start VEP, check if plugin works, close it, add another plugin to folder, start VEP and check again....
This helps finding which plugin(s) causes issues.

    Best, Ben

  • Seems like basic question, are you using Vienna Ensemble 6 or Vienna Ensemble PRO 6?

I followed your instructions, unfortunately with no success...

VE6 adds only a couple of plugins from Native Instruments and Sonalksis, but fails to add the rest.

  • That's the problem: Vienna Ensemble (Free) does not come with the option to host 3rd party instruments.
If you want that feature, you need VEPro.

What are the differences between Non-Pro and Pro?:

Thanks Ben! On the bright side: I now (after this 2-3 hour research) know where all of my sample and plugin directories are located! ;)) Greetings, el-Odysseas
