  • Finding Vienna Instruments Patches?

Sorry for the newbie question, but while I use Vienna Ensemble Pro all the time, I've almost never played with the basic Vienna Instruments Orchestra that came with it.  And now with the new v2 library, I wanted to check out the new sounds I've downloaded and installed.

But when I run the Vienna Instruments plugin in Logic, I can't see any presets listed, and I see no "load" button.  How can that be?  And in the preferences, I don't see any method of setting the default path to the instrument library...

So all I have now is a blank Vienna Instruments window, and if I try to search for an instrument in the 'patches' window, I get no results at all.

I realize I'm a newb with this plugin, but it's probably the first sample-player plugin I've ever used that doesn't have an obvious right-in-your-face method for something as basic as loading sounds...

    What am I missing?

    Thanks in advance!

  • v2 of Epic Orchestra uses the new Synchron Player rather the Vienna Instruments player. It's a freee download found in your MyVSL section of the forum.

  • Thanks for the reply.  I had downloaded the Synchron player but not installed it yet.  So I guess this means the new library doesn't show up at all in Vienna Instruments player?

And what about the V1 instruments? Any idea why I don't see them, or how I would find them?  Doesn't the Vienna Instruments plugin have some sort of file loading window so I can navigate to the correct directory where the instruments are?

Thanks again for your help -- looking forward to getting these sounds up and running.

  • You need to use the Directory Manger (included with VI download) to locate VI instruments. Just drage their folders into DM.
