  • Symphony No. 1 in D Minor, Op. 10

Hello guys, I composed and produced my first complete (45+ minute, 4 movement) Symphony a little while ago if anyone happened to be interested:

    Soundcloud Link

I spent about a year and a half working on and creating the composition and finally finished it last December. All instrumentation was done using the VSL SE+ libraries. (Been trying to figure out the marketing and business side of things recently too, but think I've been a bit stuck on that front unfortunately.)

Anyway, if there were questions or comments about the piece, or just some feedback or thoughts in general, would definitely be appreciative.

  • Quite an interesting work indeed.

SE has lot of potential in the right hands.

A bit dryier sonic environment can help feeling things more closer.

I'm halfway of the opening Adagio. More on the go…

    PS YouTube returns "not available".

  • Hi Fabio.

I'm using a reverb plugin actually in order to give the instruments the large / high quality / concert hall-ish sounds I wanted it to have.

Also, the youtube link does go to my video and it seems to play fine for me. Maybe the server was just down temporarily?

Thanks for checking it out too, hope you get a chance to listen to the entire piece.

  • A huge amount of work involved in this - congratulations on completing it!  I've done a similar job and it is not easy.  Best of luck with your work!

  • Thanks William.

Yeah, not only did the composition itself take some time, but getting the production just where I wanted it was challenging too.

  • Well I must say this is probably one of the most ambitious pieces I think has ever been posted on the forum. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to listen to the entire work but from what I did hear it has many layers of passion and such attention to detail. But what's really impressive about the piece is that it was completed with the SE collections. I swear this sounds just as good as the full libraries. Nicely done!

  • Hi jasen, apologies for the delayed response, but thanks for that. Yeah, I'm glad I've been able to create all the sounds I've needed to using just the VSL SE libraries for my compositional work.

Hope you do eventually get a chance to check out the piece in it's entireity.
