Using one computer. Followed instructions in documentation to enter 127.0.0.1 for the network. Inserted A for the instance. Got message: Could not connect to 127.0.0.1 (64) (A).

Hi Ken,
Which OS are you working on? Did you make sure that the VE Pro Server is running?

Hi Paul,
Windows 10. Yep, the server splash screen comes up, so I think that means it's running. Then the smaller dialog box shows up, and I follow the instructions for creating an instance and connecting, and I get the error I have reported.

Just double checking, you are indeed running the server application and NOT the one simply named Vienna Ensemble Pro, but the one named Vienna Ensemble Pro Server, correct?

Jon, Thanks!
It turns out I wasn't running the server. I just re-read the setup instructions, and I missed the very first step. D'oh!
Run the server first, THEN install the app as a vst. It's working fine now :-) I have a very bad habit of not reading thoroughly. Has impeded my progress my entire life. I'm almost 73. Oh well... :-) Life is still great!

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the update. I know quite some people who are not_so_thorough_readers, so no worries there
