  • Any ViPro Multis floating around?

After watching Paul's videos about ViPro, I'm inspired to create some Orchestral "multis" in ViPro.  I am wondering if there are anything like that already out there?  It seems to me you could do a lot of the stuff that is in smart orchestra with ViPro if you put your mind to it....maybe more!

Just VEP and VEPS setups. I think you can convert these from the menu to VI Pro setups. You want?

I should add that I personally prefer my setups where I can use the Una Corda pedal to switch from, say, full strings to con sordino, or maybe the tremelo. I've spent a lot of time altering patches so that I can just play without reaching for a knob. I also use a Korg NanoKey in the C0 range so that I don't have keeyswitches interfering wih instrument ranges. Whatever's handy, right?

FWIW, I run VEP7 server, not the standalone -all in one huge machine with Pro Tools 2018.12.

If you don't have Pro Tools, can you import a .ptx session into Cubase? Because I could send you an orchestral template as well. Tell your Pro Tools pals!

    LMK...

Not entirely sure what you were meaning, but the convert to VIPro menu command is for converting VI instrument channels to VIPro instrument channels, in VEP.

what I am wondering about are VIPro presets that run entirely within one instance of VIPro, that are taking advantage of 8 2-layer slots, and matrices to build up multi-instruments of some complexity that cross instrument familes, all in one VIPro preset.

I was rather impressed with some of the things Paul did in his video demo, settingh up auto voicing with different instrumetns and what not.  But none of the factory presets, that I can find, really get into that kind of thing, most of them are focused on each instrument in isolation...with myriad of ways to handle the articulations of that instrument.  But I think VIPro is capable of doing some amazing things in terms of setting up quick orch prototyping presets...  just wondering if anyone has tried this yet or any presets floating around to have a look at.

    Hi,

I have adapated the Inspiration Presets for Super Package users, hope these will help.

You need to have the Symphonic Cube and VI Pro to make these presets work, IIRC.

Simply place them in your Custom Data Folder (location is shown in your Directory Manager).

    Best,
    Paul

Thanks a lot!  I will check them out.  I have almost all Vienna instruments from Full Cube and halfway to super package at this point..  the only things I don't have are choirs, keyboards and jazz drum kits I think..  I will definitely try those...thank you!
