  • VEP 6, kontakt only going up to 11 outputs

    Hi,

I recently switched from Mac to PC for my slave computer. I tried porting over my template, and although it opened, kontakt didn't load (assuming that's because I'm now using VST). The trick is, I can't get kontakt to give me the full 16 outputs I need, only 11 for some reason. I'm using "kontakt 5 16 out stereo to stereo." If I try "kontakt 5 8 out stereo to stereo" I get four channels to work with (this makes sense!).

I can't figure out what preferences this would be under.  I have midi ports set to 16 per instance in the VE Pro 6 preferences, and the audio outputs and inputs are both set to 32 per instance.

I tried creating a new instance with 12 blank kontakt instruments and doing "clear output section and create one individual channel for each loaded instrument" and the outputs go up to 15/16 and then all the instruments from that point are still set to 15/16.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

  • How many stereo, how many mono

    Kontakt 16 out = 8x2 there, 8 stereo.

EG: When you have 8 stereo configured 1-16,
aux 4 will default to /see image

I'm guessing you're out of outputs.
Anyway, use the plugin called "Kontakt 5" instead, which is 64 all told, 32 stereo, or for instance 16 stereo and 32 mono. The specified outputs versions are from a time when resources were hard to come by.

If you indeed have 4 stereo and 3 mono or something which adds up to  Kontakt's 11, I don't have any ideas.

Also, the preferences for number of inputs is for Audio Input; NB: on right-click the options 'Channel', which is internal and requires no more than the minimum 2 for as many as you want, vs 'Input', which instantiates an input ready for Audio Input from DAW.

  • Yes! So simple. Using the "kontakt stereo to stereo" did it.

    Thanks!
