  • [SOLVED] eLicenser Control - Error

    I've purchased the Symphonic Cube due to the May 30% discount. However, it's impossible for me to install it. I've tried rebooting, reinstalled the eLicenser Control Center, made sure that the Vienna Downloader has the correct privacy rights, but still I get nothing other than then dreaded eLicenser Control - Error

    Whenever I run the eLicenser Control Center, I can see the dongle just fine with all the correct licenses.

    If someone can please help me out, it would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi iPiano,

    Please uninstall your current eLicenser Control Center and try with this 32 bit version of eLicenser, that should solve it until a new update is available.

    Let me know how that goes!

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

    Thank you so much! The 32-bit version is working nicely. I'm currently installing the first instrument :-) Wouldn't have tried installing the 32-bit version myself. Thanks again for the lightning fast answer that also worked wonderfully!

    All the best!

  • Hi this is still quite broken :

    It's an issue for anyone using Cubase because Steinberg include the latest 64bit eLicenser in all builds - even betas. So im regularly having to re-install the old 32bit driver... (i have VEP set to start at login on a sep networked mac - which fails to start thanks to this issue)

    I don't get cranky often about software, but when protection software is slowing down a workflow it feels a bit insulting...any idea when this will actually be resolved please?

  • Hi grooveq,

    Sorry about the inconvenience. We completely rely on eLicenser/Steinberg in this regard, and of course we're also hoping that this issue will be solved soon.

    Best.

  • Hi deepunair,

    I am sorry to say that I have no experience yet with the LUNA system myself.

    But generally, please make sure to allow the LUNA recording system (and all your other music applications!) to control SYNSOPOS when prompted. (SYNSOPOS is an essential part of eLicenser, our copy protection).

    You can also adjust this setting later on in the Automation tab (System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Automation - please see screenshot)

    In case LUNA does not figure in this list: I am afraid there is no way to manually add an application to the Automation tab - it is a matter of assigning Apple Event entitlements to the applications code, so this is something the UA developers will have to look into!

    Here is what it should look like for an app that has assigned entitlements, in case you want to send this to UA:

    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
        <key>com.apple.security.automation.apple-events</key>
        <true/>
        <key>com.apple.security.cs.allow-jit</key>
        <true/>
        <key>com.apple.security.cs.allow-unsigned-executable-memory</key>
        <true/>
        <key>com.apple.security.cs.disable-library-validation</key>
        <true/>
        <key>com.apple.security.device.audio-input</key>
        <true/>
    </dict>
    </plist>

  • Hi deepunair,

    I am having the same problem when launching LUNA,

    did you manage do get it sorted out?

    This is annoying since we can't even launch LUNA and test it out.

    Please let me know if you could solve this!

    Thanks

  • Hi,

    Tried to install LUNA and came up with Elicenser error.

    Reading threads, tried to download 32bit Elicenser but system says it is too old.

  • Hi D´Penguin,

    Unfortunately, I must confirm that LUNA is currently not compatible with our products.

    LUNA would need so-called security entitlements in its code signature to enable our plug-ins to communicate with the eLicenser Control Center. The necessary entitlements, however, were obviously not included.

    We have already notified UA with detailed instructions on how to fix this and hope that our colleagues there will update LUNA as soon as possible.

    I am sorry that I cannot offer an immediate solution to this problem at this point.

  • Hi there Marnix,

    Thanks so much for your speedy reply.

    In the short term is therre an option to uninstall VSL?

    Matt

  • Hi Matt,

    Sure - all our software comes with Uninstallers, please find them in the respective application folders.
