  • Vienna Directory Manager crashes...

Hey, can anyone help. Vienna Instruments plugin can't seem to find Epic Orch 2.0 and my other libraries. And I can't start Vienna Instruments Directory Manager. It just crashes. I'm on OSX 10.14.5 and all the latest versions of the Vienna stuff.

  • Hi, first: Epic Orchestra 2 needs the Synchron Player and does not work with the VI player. Also you have to setup the path in the synchron player and not the Directory Manager. It seems your Directory Manager installation is corrupted. Try installing the latest version of it. Best, Ben

Yes, sorry, I was a bit unclear. It doesn’t show up in synchron player either, but String Fx and Smart Orchestra does, and they are all in the same folder, and the search path in Synchron player is correct. In the Instruments player, no libraries show up. I have installed and reinstalled the manager several times. Still can’t get it to open, it just crashes. Thanks//Oscar

  • Hi Oscar,

You have not downloaded the license for EO 2.0 yet. Please do so and it will work.

The Directory Manager is installed with Vienna Instruments - are you sure you are not mixing up Directory Manager and Download Manager?

    Best,
    Paul

Thank you Paul. Just downloaded the license for Epic Orch 2.0. My bad.

However, regarding the problem with Vienna Instruments: I AM talking about the Directory Manager. As you can also see in the error log in the OP. I have downloaded it and reinstalled, but to no avail. Please advice.

    Thanks//O

  • Hi Again Paul,

I worked it out. I didn't realize I needed to install Vienna Ensemble 6 as well. I thought it was enough that I had Vienna Enseble Pro 7 installed, so I had unchecked that option in the installer. Downloaded again and installed both Directory Manager and Ensemble. Now it works!

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Thanks//O
