  • UVI Workstation Conundrum (SOLVED)

All my sound libraries work as they should when using up to 16 midi channels per instance EXCEPT UVI Workstation which works fine on midi channel 1 of an instance but there is no sound when choosing an another midi channel for a different sound bank or indeed the very same as midi channel 1.

Let us say that I load Ravenscroft 275 GP into midi 1 there is no problem but if I load the same or different into mid1 2 there is no sound.  I have of course checked all channels are set right on my slave running VEP and on my iMac running logic Pro  x, any ideas or is this a bug or something in UVI Workstation or is it something I am not seeing/doing right.

  • If by  'load [] into midi 1 there is no problem but if I load the same or different into midi 2' you mean the indication in VEP of channel, there is the channel assignment in the instrument. To the left, where it's the same as any multitimbral plugin. So a multi would be VEP channel All with the individual parts assigned 1-16. But ensure the assignment is also done in UVI Workstation.

  • The midi channel is also assigned to the instrument and that is the confusing part as the VEP instance, the instrument in CVI and Logic pro are all aet to midi channel 2 but no sound although the Uvi software keyboard plays but no midi response on this or any other channel

  • Just checking if I do understand you right. Did you click on A1 and choose there the channel you want to use? For example: if you click on 2, you will see A2 and the instrument will respond to channel 2 midi signals.

  • Hi MMKA, no I did not click on A2 but thought because it was showing 2 under the instrument panel I was on 2 which of course I was not.  Thank you very much and one day maybe I will read the instructions before wasting the time of others.
