  • Cross-platform VEP 7 project possible?

    Hello all,

I want to be able to create a server project that is portable between macOS and Windows.

I have created such a project on Windows and opened it on macOS.

The paths of course present a problem.

However there is a very odd peculiarity. I have Play (6 - was the same with 5) loaded, and I have licenses for EWQLSO Platinum Plus. I have loaded those samples in the project on Windows. All works.

I have saved the project and copied it to macOS.

I then moved my iLok and e-Licenser to macOS, and opened the project there.

    VI instances load fine.

Kontakt instances need to be told where to find the libraries. OK.

Play complains about not being able to find EW Orchestra Gold (Note, Gold, not Platinum), and refuses to load any samples. I am given the option to find the directory. I tried that and then tried loading samples, and it said I wasn't license (I am - and the iLok is in the correct machine and locally the directory paths are set up correctly for EW).

So, without getting hung up too much on the EW issue (although that's a critical problem I need to fix to make this work and would value specific input on), is there a recommended way of setting up a cross-platform VEP project that uses 3rd party instruments?

    Kind regards

    Derek Jones.
