    Hello I hope you can please help.

    For me it is a desperate thing. I was preparing big template for the VEP for a long time. I want to work with the Logic file to have it all accessible. I have connected all the instruments but I do not use most of them they are only connected.

     

    WHY Logic even with settings 512buffers does crackles when you press play. I know you will say that it is not enough info, but I want to say that this is 1GB ethernet and everything has been well configured. MAYBE,  but I do not want to hear that, my VEP machine is not very powerful, it is a server Supermicro Computer Xeon CPU D-1518 2.2.GHT  128GB DDR4 RAM and WIndows 10.

     

    PLEASE TELL ME WHAT CAN IT BE. I AM NOT ABLE TO WORK AND THE VEP is THE WORST EXPERIENCE FOR ME. 

    It is OK but when you start work it all crackles, when you add one more extra track etc. 

    What is the thing here, maybe some limitations, maybe VEP has to be loaded to less than 80% or what. It does not make sense for me. Logic computer is doing nothing, problems start when I satrt play or want to record.

     

    All I want to do is to use Syncrhon Power drums (from VEP server) both with some piano. I have to mute Synchron Power becuase it crackles, or sometimes I got some strange messages about sample rate  

    Please Paul and other help, I cannot stand it, I will give up the VEP forever if I do not get help here. I invested too much money for this system.

    Kontakt slows down playin my piano and the message is: Error Whiile trying Sync Audio and MIDI - SAMPLE RATE 46205 recognized. Check conflict between Logic Pro X and external device. What the hell it is? My interface is Fireface 802  but I am sure it is all about VEP. Pleaes help I cannot work. It happens only when I press play or try to record music. VEP is the culprit. What can I do / Please it is urgent. No idea - in Logic Audio even does not go to half meter up, DIsk IO is  not high (there are just 2 tracks playing) but noises crackles, all frustrating things because of the VEP. What aslo happened to me, sometimes on the VEP (why?) Kontakt told me about changing sample rate. But anyway HOW CAN I GET UP?

    This VEP has been only connected, I want to use 1 instrument. Why, what happens?

    What is your network setup? This sounds like you are connecting over WIFI...

    Paul thank you I am trying to sort out things, No definitely not, the WIFI is in a different group at all.

    10.255.255.5 is Chieftec Windows 10 SuperMicro

    10.255.255.7 is  MacBook Pro DAW

    10.255.255.10 is a big PC where is only 1 piano.

     

    I did a test I unloaded ALL instruments but left those 2. Plus 2 more that I added lately to my template: just a set of trumpets from the EWQL. Something very strange - you know what, the channel strip below Kontakt had normal LOGIC EQ inserted but this was causing noises back,  looked like a bug. I removed it and there is a hope.

     

     

    What is strange: I connect to my VEP server with the VNC. (although strange when the server is minimised to the winbar it works much better, never had any idea why, when I maximise it crackles more).THis is forever question.

    Nothing helps, it works SO BAD. Even buffer size is 512 in Logic and still playback stops after 2 bars when there is only piano and Sync Drums playing.

    WHat is the issue with this?

    Sample Rate 44 100 recognized.. Check conflict between Logic Pro X and external device.

    It happens while playing, what can be wrong there, I have only one audio device... RME. No audio device in the VEP.

    MAYBE 128GB of MEMORY IS OK BUT MAY IT HAPPEN THE  VEP COMPUTER IS TOO SLOW, the one that I send specs before?

    Dear Paul, dear freinds, I am still investigating it.

    What can cause the error so often, when I use for example Symphonic Strings Vc and Violins. Maybe they are so demanding. But the VEP computer CPU is around 30% when it is playing.
    Maybe I should do less audio outputs in the VEP.
     
    "The audio engine was unable to process all required data in time.
    You can try increasing the I/O buffer size, change the Multithreading option at Logic Pro X > Preferences > Audio > Devices."
    How CAN DAW do it when there are no single samples it should play from its virtual instruments?

    What is your VEPro plugin in Logic set to for its buffer? I have had trouble when I set mine below 2 (i.e. crackling, and "distortion" in playback). I would suggest that the ideal settings are 256 buffer size for your host (Logic), and a 2 buffer for the VEPro plugin.

    Dear Community, I think I managed to deal the problem. I would like to tell you that it was most probalby Apple Faault. Yes a big fault. My Macbook Pro is late 2017 Touch Bar, 15 inches.  I was inverstigating something about the T something chipset. But I was on Mojave 10.4.3 when I sold out my older Macbook Pro the one with normal ports and slots. And I was very surprised as the new one was working much worse, also there were soemthing like a kernel_task (the well known problem) running too much up.
    I read in the release notes of the 10.4.5 that they corrected some latency problems. My biggest surprise was after the update - I accidentaly set 128 buffers per sample in Logic, and it still was working well, that would never happen before. So Apple is the culprit.

    The more I would like to add that thanks to VEP7 mapping I managed to create in my template the off and on  automation for huge libraries llike strings that I do not want always to use.  So the VEP unloads or loads the instrument back. But this was just for a future.. I mean channel disable. Logic can see it at once so  no more to program, I only use a smart control to switch it on or off...

    Well, from what I had read in this post, the issue is exactly the same I've already reported in few mails.
    Case (299388). I have already gave a lot of details and comparison with VE Pro 5, which has much better
    playback performance than VE Pro 7.
    I suppose VE Pro 7 has some SSD / HDD reading problems, which don't exist. I've noticed very high
    SSD reading loading (Samsung Pro 960 NVMe). Often the reading peaks reach 100%. And Kontakt disc reading up to 100% (in red). This is where the crackles come from.

    Actually I did test with VE Pro 6, and this bug is there, too...

    Hello Thurisaz,

    this is not what I was talking about. For me noe VE Pro 7 works OK. It was Apple fault, they did something wrong with audio on my DAW machine. I have been frustrated becasue I did not expect it could be the DAW problem...
