  • Feature Request

I would like to see a "save as template" option for VEP instances and server project files.  A template would always be saved with everything disabled.  Server proejcts would disable all instances and instance projects maybe would diable all channels....as a "template".

I would find this very convenient as a way to quickly save any VEP project in a starter format that can be loaded quickly in the future without having to load any samples starting out.  As I begin to use it, then instances and channels can be enabled, loading the samples for instruments as I go.

That way I can have a really huge VEP template, even if most of it is not being used, but is configured with the channel layout I always want...and it will always be fast to load that template project without having to load any samples.

  • or maybe an alternative and better approach would be to have an "Open as Template" menu item that can open any VEP project, both server or instances, with everything in disabled state.  Or maybe server projects open with instances disabled, but once you enable the instance, the channels within are in their last saved state.  or maybe also have a way to enable an instance with all channels disabled, similar as above...

WHen you open an instance frame file as template, then the channels would all be disabled...something like that..

This would be very handy to be able to open a VEP project in that disabled state to start out so that you can have humongous VEP templates but pretty much can open them quickly and only load the samples for instances, folders or channels you actually want to use as you use it.
