  • Kontakt 6 update and old metaframes

I've just updated my Mac Pro to Mavericks (from High Sierra). I also updated to VEP7 (from 6) and Kontakt 6 (from 5).

I've also done a similar thing on 2 slaved Mac Minis (updated to VEP 7 and K6).

I have dozens of VEP instances lodeded into large metaframes for my large (Digital Perfomer) template. My question is this:

Since updating to Kontakt 6 (just to stay as up to date as poss), is there a quick way to resave all my VEP metaframes with K6 instances (instead of K5), or do I have to go into each K5 multi, re-save, then delete and re-open as a K6 Multi, in every instance?

If that's the case, is it necessary, or am I just as safe stickign with the K5 multis in my metaframes, and just use K6 for any new instances I need? Could there be a future potential conflict/issue with having old K5 mutlis in my VEP instances?

    Thanks!

  • I don't think there is any way to force VEP to switch.
Cubase, for instance will place 6 in there if you remove 5, VEP no.

And I doubt there's going to be a compatibility issue other than will the OS support K5, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Kontakt 4 was a problem for me a couple years ago.
