  • New VM1 App For iOS: Useful Only For Multiple Networked Computers?

It looks like the primary use for the new VM1 app for iOS is to more easily control and navigate VE Pro across multiple networked computers. According to a YouTube video produced by Montreal Music Labs this was the raison d'etre for it's creation.

Is this the ONLY use? Is there functionality that will enhance the use of VE Pro on a single machine?

Thanks for your post.  While it is true that VM1 really helps centralize all the information from multiple servers, it does a lot more, even if you are just using a single local server.  You can add, edit and remove channels and instances right from VM1.  Batch adding and editing is particuarly useful - for example, creating 8 Synchron Players, naming them, and assinging routing in one shot.

Perhaps the most compelling feature is Stacks - which allows you easily controlled layered stacks of instruments or easily compare multiple instruments of the same type:

You can see more details about VM1 in general from our last live demonstration here:

We are continually working on VM1 to add new features as soon as possible (we have quite a list of cool things we are planning to add)

In the next week or so, we will be able to offer demo licenses, so you can check out VM1 in your own studio environment.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Shane

  • Great, thanks for responding.

Will there be sufficient time to demo the product before the introductory pricing goes away?

  • I look forward to watching this too.

Be advised that the presentation on youtube doesn't start until 5:45 into the video. Before that, it's just the intro "Starting Soon" slide.

    Cheers.
