  • Server not showing in plugin

First of all I'm super impressed with VEPro7 and now, after only being on board 1month or so I have a server running on Windows 7 x64 i7 as well as another server running on Windows 10 DAW 8 core machine. I'm using Ableton 10 on the DAW.

Everything works very well (i.e servers hosting instruments and loading and saving with DAW sessions flawlessly).

I'm now trying to refine the workflow.

    • When I create a track and drop a VEPro plugin onto it, the SERVER INSTANCES frame shows only the localhost server (no remote server is shown).
    • When I type in the remote server IP and click connect, a new "Untitled" instance is created which can be used o.k. but I have no way to connect with existing preserved instances.

    Any help, most grateful.

    Hi Duggle,

Great to see that you like VE Pro.

Did you check that there are no blocks in the way of server discovery (firewall port exceptions like mentioned in the VE Pro manual, page 4, or AV programs)?

Something is blocking that information from showing up in the VE Pro plug-in...

  • Thanks Paul, setting the firewall exceptions on the DAW computer did the trick.

The remote server had this done previously. It's noteable that things did not improve after setting the DAW until I rebooted both machines.

    Thanks again.

  • Hi Duggle,

Thanks for the update. You are right, a restart might be necessary for those changes to be applied.

    Best,
    Paul
