  • Minumium reqirements for start?

    Hi,

the Vienna Instruments (free) and Vienna Smart Orchestra kit sufficient for me to play 16-tracks MIDI with an independent instrument for all midi channel?

Altentatively - will Audit Credit allow me to play this midi file and record audio resullt?

    Kind regards,

    Kajetan

  • Hi Kajetan,

Vienna Smart Orchestra comes with the Synchron Player Software.

Performance depends on your setup - would you like to share some information there?

Audition Credit does not support Synchron Products, I'm afraid.

  • Hi Paul.

I'm not a musician, maybe an amateur musician (midi accordion, keyboards), but I'm a mobile game developer.
Because I have two children at and after the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw (violin, counterattass), and I like classical music, I decided to reach for more ambitious music for games.

I collaborated with a beginner but a talented student of composition at the Academy. But he creates (composes) by writing notes, not playing the keyboard. He provides me with the song in the form of a score and a midi file.

I need something to convert this music into a 'real' orchestra, most VST plugins are ... what they are. I started looking for a better orchestra and came to you. Somehow your reference songs are ... shocking. :-) But the price too. ;-)

At the moment, the composer made me a two-minute song for the game's trailer (for brass orchestra) . The score is divided into 15 tracks. I am looking for the opportunity to try your software to create a "home orchestra".

The Vienna Smart Orchestra for 175EUR is still a very affordable price, but after watching the demo films I still don't know if it is enough with Vienna Instruments to pass through this 16 track midi file and receive an MP3 recording e.g.

I note that the score is written for instruments, not instrumental sections. Instruments: Flauto, Clarnetto, Fagotto, Tromba, Trombone, Corno, Timpani, Marimba, Rullante

I think maybe the economic solution for me would be to buy individual samples of these instruments? Any of your software (free) would cope with what I described ??

    Kind regards,

    Kajetan KrupiƄski

  • Hi Kajeta,

I think the Synchronized Special Edition Vol. 1 would be better for your needs: https://www.vsl.co.at/en/Synchronized_Special_Edition_Bundle/Synchronized_Special_Edition_Vol1

It has all instruments from your list and is still affordable. And the player comes for free :)
You need a DAW, but there are some for free, like StudioOne Prime.

Still, there is no virtual instrument that will give you good results by just throwing some notation-software generated MIDI-export at it. So you mostly want to modify the MIDI data you got.
Import the MIDI data into the DAW, then start with setting up the keyswitches. After that setup expression automation curves and velocity crossfades curves for control of expression and volume.

  • Yes, thank you, this is a very interesting option for me. Fits in a reasonable budget for rehearsals.
I know that the raw midi from the record editor needs processing, we've done it a little bit. But the poor quality of the samples disturbed us at work. Orchestral music has its own requirements.

    Thank you very much.
